When have you worked with a diverse group of people?

Today, the prevailing approach to fostering innovation in the workplace includes drawing from a diverse work pool across boundaries, where the range of perspectives, experience, and culture is wide and varying. This requires everyone within their organization to have a high degree of cultural competence to collaborate effectively. Diversity questions are one way to determine your cultural competence.

When discussing diversity, focus on the human experience and being more comfortable outside your range of experience than within it. Acknowledge that even at the most inherently human level, we're all driven by the same basic needs and unifying experiences. Communicate clearly and decisively. The last thing you want to do is come across as uncomfortable or out of your element when answering this question.
