"I was shooting for a particular position within the company for quite some time. The position would serve as a stepping stone in the direction I wanted to take my career within the company. But without it, that door was closed. I'd been working on my goals, improving my skills as a professional, and training for six months when someone on the board filled the position with their nephew from outside the company with no relatable experience. Honestly, if there was another method of navigating my career forward, I would, but at this point, I would be cruising along at the status quo within the company for the next five years, and that would freeze my five-year career plan. So, I am now exploring my options outside of the company."
