"Athletics was never my strong suit growing up, so when it came time to take a course in the History of Intercollegiate Athletics, I felt it was an enormous challenge. Since taking that course and beginning a career as a school superintendent, I have made a conscious effort to expose myself to more athletic activities and have become very involved in our school's athletic programs. I would no longer consider this area of knowledge to be a weakness."

School law- Probably because of all the dates that we were required to remember about court cases. But I was able to gain the knowledge I needed to earn my credit.

That sounds like a challenge, indeed! How were you able to get these dates to stick? Since your career is based on education, it may be a nice addition to walk the interviewers through your method for studying and retaining important information.

Public Relations and Marketing, but not because of the content. I actually love the opportunity to be creative and promote public education and our events and celebrations about our students' success. But rather, the professor was very superficial. It was a summer course that was hybrid online, and our teacher was trying to boost morale with Hawaiian Shirt Wednesdays and such. I really only remember one project we did in that class to promote parent collaboration and we actually used it - book clubs and parents night out - where we would take the students through 3 fun events in rotations at the school on a Friday night while the parents went on a date or shopping, etc. This was in "exchange" for the parents hosting a book club chat at school during the day later in the year.

This must have been a challenging course, considering the 'Hawaiian Shirt Wednesdays' did not connect with the depth you were expecting in the classroom. In addition to the details you provide, it would be great to discuss what you did to ensure you got the most from this class despite the professor's superficial approach.
