Do you have a valid certification to be a superintendent in our state?

As a school superintendent, you will likely need a valid certification to work in each independent state. You can find this information online for the state where you will be working. If you do not have certification, some states offer alternative pathways to certification. Assure the interviewer that you are aware of this and that you are, in fact, eligible to work in their state. If you have a physical certificate you can bring to the interview - even better.

"Yes. I have a valid state certification to work as a superintendent in this state. I obtained it last year when I relocated to California from Washington. I brought the certificate for you to see and have a copy for your records."
