Regardless of the type of product, it will have some technical components. This may be in the form of actual technology, or it may involve the technical requirements to produce it. It is the responsibility of the product specialist to engage the appropriate technical resources in the product development process. This ensures that the design meets the functional requirements and that the product can be produced effectively and efficiently. The interviewer will ask you this question to confirm that you agree with this and have taken steps to engage the technical teams in your previous organizations during product development projects.

"I have never engaged in a product development project without the full cooperation of my organization's technical teams. Their contributions to the product design, the technology it incorporates, its functions and features, and how easily it can be manufactured determine the development project's success. I engage these teams early in the process to get both their input and buy-in. I keep them engaged and consult with them as we move through the design, development, manufacturing processes. I place a great deal of value on their input and suggestions and incorporate these whenever possible."
