It is not unusual that you will be presented with use cases and asked to resolve them during an interview for a product specialist position. This is an example of this type of question. The best way to prepare for these types of questions is to conduct a great deal of research about the company, its products, its market, and its competition before the interview. Your goal should be to acquire as much knowledge as possible before entering the interview so you can address these use cases accurately and demonstrate your qualifications for the position.

"The way I would describe your product to someone unfamiliar with it would be something like this: If you're looking for a single tool that can accomplish several different tasks, there's nothing better than our Swiss army knife. It contains several different components that help you accomplish a wide range of tasks. These include knife blades, screwdrivers, a corkscrew, levers, pliers, and even a toothpick. Additionally, each of these tools can be used for multiple purposes, thereby doubling the effectiveness of the Swiss army knife. The best feature is that all of these tools are incorporated into a single unit which fits easily into your pants pocket and can be carried wherever you go. This is likely the only tool you'll ever need."
