Question 6 of 30

How do you typically go about estimating network traffic?

"Estimating an organization's network traffic is as much an art as it is science. It requires understanding the organization's operations and events or issues which will cause increases or decreases in network traffic. For example, if the organization conducts e-commerce, there may be seasonal spikes in its network traffic requirements. I try to design networks that are optimized for average network traffic but will also accommodate the occasional peaks or spikes. This requires measuring the organization's daily traffic and collaborating with the other business units to understand their projected growth and any events which will spike network traffic."
