"I once had a manager who was quite controlling. He liked to know exactly what was happening at all times. While I'm an advocate of frequent status updates during projects, this specific manager implemented a policy that required my entire team to report exactly what we had accomplished every hour. I disagreed with this policy because of the amount of time I felt we wasted reporting our activities. My team members and I felt like our manager didn't trust us, which was a demoralizing feeling.
