"I had a family emergency arise in the middle of a project I'd taken on. The emergency required me to leave town. So I had to inform my management that I was going to be unavailable for a few days. This required creating some very clear objectives and goals that I needed my managers to achieve in order to not create a performance gap in my absence, and that was hard for me to do, to let go of the reins, that is. I did everything I could to manage things proactively. It was a success, my absence did not interrupt our projected goals, but I still had trouble letting go, and hated the idea of abandoning the team."
