The Salvation Army offers a number of volunteer opportunities to support its diverse work around the world. Do you have experience recruiting volunteers?

"I have worked as a volunteer manager at the same organization for the past six years. In that time, I have recruited nearly three thousand active volunteers in partnership with universities, corporations, religious groups, and government and civic agencies. Not only do I recruit volunteers, but I also train them to represent the organization well while serving the community. I am confident in my ability to recruit large numbers of volunteers and train them to expertly and efficiently deliver the Salvation Army's services to communities in need."

"There is a great amount of diversity in the volunteer opportunities the Salvation Army offers. As a volunteer recruiter, I know that there must also be diversity in my approach to recruiting more volunteers. In the past, I have successfully utilized social media in my efforts to attract new volunteers from Generation Z. I would expand this approach by leaning into the Salvation Army's already impressive social media following and partnering with influencers relevant in popular culture. This strategy can exponentially increase the Salvation Army's visibility and will not only result in a greater number of volunteers but also potentially new donors."

If you do not have experience recruiting volunteers, be honest. Talk about skills you have that would apply to recruitment, and explain in detail how you would use those skills to recruit volunteers for the Salvation Army.
