Some individuals mistakenly assume most people think as they do. For example, a person who steals often assumes others would steal from them. This question evaluates your sense of integrity. A person who is capable of unethical behavior might be willing to suggest that they would readily bend the rules if asked to if that meant they'd win the job. Whereas an honest person would assume everyone was honest like them and would do the right thing. The interviewer's motives are irrelevant. What is important here is familiarizing yourself with T-Mobile's code of ethics.

"It depends on the gravity of the unethical behavior. If it was a minor infraction, and I believed I could dissuade them, I would talk to them first. However, if the transgression was more serious, I would follow the channels I deemed wisest within the bounds of our code of conduct and report it without delay. I feel strongly about protecting my company's assets, and there is no greater asset than reputation."

T-Mobile states: "We will realize our ambitions by doing things the right way, always, with integrity, responsibility, and transparency. It's not simply about doing the right thing. It's about doing our thing. To build trust with our customers, suppliers, business partners, and one another, we are uncompromising in our ethical code and uphold strong corporate governance policies and practices. If something seems off, talk to your manager, skip-level manager, or HR employee success partner. If that's not an option or doesn't apply, use the T-Mobile Integrity Line to report your concern. The important thing is to reach out to someone who can help. Speak up."
