Original programming is everything, long term. You can spend on licensing titles, but in the end, have no control. Look at Disney. It's contributing roughly 70% toward new subscribers (at least in kids/family), and this year they launch Disney and remove their titles. Now what? Invest in IP. Once you have a hit, turn it into a franchise the way Sesame Street and others have done.
