The interviewer would like to see that you have experience in the industry; whether your aerospace experience comes from private or public entities. If the job description or job posting from Lockheed Martin points out a preference for one over the other, it is wise to focus your answer on that particular experience. Keep in mind that a vast majority of Lockheed Martin's revenue comes directly from projects completed on behalf of the US government, so it is important to keep that in mind when responding.
