KPMG's Leadership Edge Program is considered an 'externship.' An externship program is commonly offered by all Big 4 firms, as they are a 1-3 day opportunity for students to gain exposure to the firms and learn about the firms' culture and the expectations of carving out a career with the firm. During the program, you will also learn how to advance into an internship and eventually a full-time offer from KPMG.
You are not limited to attend only KPMG's externship. Big 4 firms fully expect that you will explore other opportunities. While KPMG has the Leadership Edge program, PwC holds an externship program called 'Elevate,' Deloitte's externship is 'NextGen,' and EY's is called the 'Emerging Leaders Program.'
If you were a KPMG Leadership Edge participant, be prepared to talk to the interviewers about what you gained from their externship. When discussing this experience, let your enthusiasm for an internship with KPMG shine through!

"Attending KPMG's Leadership Edge program gave me a very positive glimpse into the distinctive culture of the firm. I learned even more about KPMG values and how I can best emulate them as an Intern and later as a full-time team member. The connections that I made over that weekend were incredible, and I felt supported in my decision to pursue an internship with KPMG. The Associates I met during this time helped describe what day-to-day life was like in the office. I also gained a clear snapshot of what I could expect to absorb during an internship. I am grateful for the experience and look forward to pursuing an internship, and other future opportunities, with KPMG."
