Although KPMG is a firm focused on accounting, taxes, audits, and other finance-related matters, the company branches out and chooses its interns from a broad base of education majors. These majors include accounting and business programs and students majoring in computer science, finance, engineering, law, and more.
The interviewers want to know how the knowledge and experiences you have gained from your post-secondary education will positively affect KPMG. Walk the interviewers through your formal educational experience and highlight the main points that you believe will benefit the firm during your internship and into the long-term, should you be hired on full time as a KPMG employee after graduation.

"I am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Accounting. My coursework has a heavy focus on economics, finance, and business which will allow me to contribute to audits and help to evaluate financial reports. I have also learned about regulatory compliance and risk management, allowing me to add value to my team as a busy season intern. My knowledge of receivables and other financial-related administrative tasks will help me approach the confirmation process and begin completing confirmations. In addition to the knowledge I have gained in university so far, I am confident that my knowledge base will grow every day as a KPMG Intern."
