The interviewers would like to know what you want to learn about working at KPMG. I quickly realized that I could not convert a PDF into a Word doc. I reached out to our administrative assistant to complete this first part of the task for me. The manager mentioned they wanted this specific document sent to the client by 12 PM. I emailed the administrative assistant at 9 AM, asking them to please complete the task by 10 AM, to which they refused on account of being too busy. Instead of becoming angry at the lack of help, I extended empathy and explained the situation, including why the task and deadline were important. I explained that the manager had requested this on a tight timeline, and I would let him know that we worked as a team to make sure this document was ready to go. This approach gave the administrative assistant more interest in the task and made them feel very important.
