How have you given back to the community?
"I feel everyone should do something, big or small. It sounds silly, but I live in a small community, and when it snows, well, I happen own a snowplow attachment, which I hook up to my big truck, and so on those days I clear the roads. Most of the people in my community, if I miss a day, they call and complain to the city, not knowing it's me. I get a kick out of that. But I'm not in it for the recognition, though. I just want everyone to be safe on the roads. Give back where you can. I also donate to several charities. They're tax writeoffs, after all, so no reason not to do it."
This question aims to determine how well you will fit into their culture, and predict whether you will participate in the many charitable activities which they sponsor for their employees. Not only does this aid in building and strengthening the relationships of their teams, and often their clients, but giving back to their communities is an integral part of their company culture. So whether you donate to charities, have volunteered in the present or in the past, or simply haven't been able to prioritise it in the manner you'd prefer, examine the ways in which your values align with theirs, and share any enthusiasm you have for embracing and representing this aspect of their company culture.
Here are but a few of the methods in which HSBC advertises on their website how they give back. "Our employees spent more than 67,000 hours volunteering during working hours in 2022. Skill-building in the community; We are committed to supporting both our own people and those in our communities. Our partnerships with governments, businesses and non-profit organisations are helping to build skills and work towards a fairer society. Colleagues are playing a key role by volunteering their time and skills."
Modern Hire will also evaluate your professional appearance beyond your attire, such as how tidy and clean your surroundings are, how well groomed you are. It will monitor your posture, your facial expressions, eye movements, head movements, and hand movements. It will also scan tone for your vocal cues, such as placing stress or emphasis on certain words, stutters, or taking long pauses.
