The best way to discuss your salary expectations is to use your current earnings as an example. While you can and should be open and honest about your expectations in joining the Doordash team, you should not price yourself for the role that you are interviewing for. Ideally, you should have done this research before applying. If you need to, you can conduct some online research to ensure that your expectations match the compensation for the position you are interviewing for.

Stephanie's Feedback
Questions about salary expectations are always tricky! You don't want to risk asking for too much and being screened out as a potential candidate, but you also don't want to ask for too little and risk leaving money on the table. Whenever possible, I suggest not giving out a specific number. (For example, you could say, "I have five years of industry experience, and I am hoping to find an opportunity that is commensurate to my years of experience and the skills I'd bring to the role. Can you share the compensation range you've allocated for this role?") If you are absolutely required to provide a number, then I suggest providing a range (exactly as you did in your response) rather than a specific number.
