Ryan Brunner has over ten years of experience recruiting, interviewing, and hiring candidates in the healthcare, public service, and private manufacturing/distribution industries.
Because Doordash puts a great amount of time and resources into researching their customer base and network of vendors, they expect anyone that they hire to put the same amount of research into their work. As you frame your answer for a question like this, be prepared to discuss how you use research for the work that you do currently and how you would research in this role with the company.

"I agree that research is the backbone of strong projects. Without it, important details are missed and much time is wasted. I like to research before starting a project so that I can lay out a plan and understand the potential hurdles as well. If I were fortunate enough to be offered this position at Doordash, you can rest assured knowing that effective and efficient research would be a part of my work."

I believe this would be situation driven. I believe that it is important to strike the right balance depending on the amount of time available at hand, my comfort level with the application or process I have been tasked with automating, and the technology that I am going to use. It wouldn't make sense to spend too much time researching something that we are comfortable with using or have already researched in the past. But if tasked with something new, I believe I will start off with enough research that will help me be successful at delivering a good result.
