Proactively seeking feedback shows that you are emotionally invested in your work. It shows you care, are focused on your performance and potential, and give your all. Whereas cruising along, going with the flow, and assuming no news is good news suggests a work ethic of hoping for security and comfort in the status quo. It also may suggest a work ethic driven by insecurity and a fear of rocking the boat and drawing attention to one's lack of accomplishment or meeting the bare minimum. Neither suggests, 'Hire me.'
Detail how you have asserted your desire to grow professionally. Talk about what you have done to draw attention to yourself and where you exhibited the emotional intelligence to take feedback in stride and immediately measure your success against it. Constantly striving for professional growth is the aim here. You want to exhibit that you have professional goals and are driven and motivated to grow within your career.
"I take every opportunity to ask for feedback. Anytime our leadership performs a check-in with me, I take advantage of it. It's in those moments where the timing feels right.
