With the prominent rise of social media and the fact that people all over the world are connected to it, organizations utilize different channels in different ways to spread their message and market to people. The Canadian Red Cross uses social media to seek digital volunteers to work on communications during disasters and bring a presence to the general public in their efforts. This of course differs greatly from for-profit businesses that are focused on sales numbers.
