The Red Cross' seven Fundamental Principles were developed in the 1960s to link together all international Red Cross organizations. The staff of the organization must know that their mission is a voluntary relief movement that is not done for any purpose of gain. As a service-driven organization, your interviewer wants to hear you elaborate on any volunteer experiences you have. Keep in mind that as you discuss this, they will be keying in on your passion and desire to help out in more impactful ways.

"I would be more than happy to! From a young age, my parents had my brothers and me volunteering at the local animal shelter and I've become a very big proponent of Humane Canada's mission. This is a value I'm passing along to my children, where we come into our local shelter to walk animals and play with them. When we can, we drop off toys and food around the holidays as well. Today, my husband and I also volunteer at the Calgary Drop-In Centre, where we help serve meals to adults who are experiencing homelessness. It is very rewarding and the smiles on their faces make us walk away happy and fulfilled every time."
