"As a sophomore in high school, I decided that I wanted to participate in a three-month student exchange program. My family is not wealthy, so I immediately knew that I needed to fundraise to be able to sustain myself financially during the experience. I chose to start a crowd-funding initiative on GoFundMe, outlining my reasoning for participating in the experience, and what I would aim to achieve while participating in the program. I reached my financial goal of 6,000 in just eight days, thanks to the generosity of my community, church, and the student body. As a thank-you for the support, I started a blog that allowed those who funded my journey to become part of it. It was important to me that I not only ask for help but that I continue to involve those who lifted me up in my journey in the first place. I will take this attitude of gratefulness into my internship, giving full thanks and respect to those at Boeing who commit to my career growth."
