      What You Need to Know

HireVue offers a background blur feature if you are unable to find a location that is free of distractions. However, considering that Baker Hughes offers flexible working patterns, they'll need assurances that you will be self managed and organized when working remotely, and most recruiters may find that blurred background distracting or wonder what that hidden background says about how organized or professional you are. In fact, if the recruiter thinks you are hiding something, they may question your integrity.

Remember, the assessment model only evaluates and scores your performance before screening or forwarding your interview and candidate report to the company's recruiter, who makes the final call. So avoid using the background blur feature, if at all possible, and find a relatively quiet and organized space with as few distractions, interruptions, and background noise as possible.

      What to Avoid

Your answer will be evaluated for how sincerely you seem to present your answers. So avoid any non-verbal cues for dishonesty, such as stroking your chin, and covering your mouth or your eyes, gaze avoidance, the direction of your eyes, excessive fidgeting such as restless foot and leg movements, frequent body posture changes, and grooming behaviors such as playing with hair or pressing your fingers to lips.
