HireVue considers someone of a novice skill level as someone who is likely to suffer from task paralysis and procrastination when suffering a setback or failure, doesn't react quickly in time-sensitive situations, looks to others to make those tough choices for them, is afraid of making the wrong choice, takes unnecessary risks, puts effort into hiding, covering up, remedying, or abandoning their failure, hoping it won't be discovered or traced back to them, and is a liability to the company's assets. They classify an intermediate skill level as someone who holds themself accountable for their setbacks while identifying and admitting to their weaknesses, limitations, needed adjustments, and mistakes. An expert is someone who considers areas where there is room for improvement as a growth opportunity rather than a weakness or debilitation, is resourceful and decisive, and takes action with a degree of informed calculated risk.

"I can be a bit of a perfectionist, and strive to consistently go above and beyond in the work I deliver. But this ambition sometimes got in the way of delivering on time, or as early as I'd like.
