At Apple, we greatly value teamwork. Tell me about a contribution you made to the last team you worked on.
Apple employees are known for being productive and highly engaged. It is essential to show the interviewer that you are a team player, looking to work with the best of the best. Talk about a time when you were expected to achieve a goal in a team setting. Show how you went over and above to ensure that the team felt your contribution.
"Effective teamwork is an essential part of a company's success. Last month our company asked upper management to complete a full inventory audit. There were 4 of us total, and so we broke the audit requirements into shifts, after the close-out. In the end, there was one additional shift that nobody wanted to take. I volunteered to do that shift to show dedication to my job and my co-workers. The gesture was appreciated, and the audit completed on time."

The head of product marketing came to me with a problem. Due to the war in Ukraine, the latest product release was going to be light on new features, but we had already committed to a product webinar, including the Chief Product Officer. He asked whether I could present for several minutes about the Trusted AI product capabilities. There would be three other presenters, including the CPO. My first action was to check what the other presenters were going to cover, and what theme product marketing had planned for the webinar. Since there was some inconvenient messaging overlap, I negotiated with the other presenters to shape a coordinated message. Then I crafted my part of the message, focussing on “closing the loop” for “all users” since the trust capabilities weren’t actually new but hadn’t been rolled out to on-premises users until this release. This made for a strong wrap-up message, as I was the final presenter. The webinar created several new sales leads, and I like to think that was due to our teamwork.

Awesome! The example you have provided in your response clearly shows how you contributed to your team. Consider emphasizing (i.e., directly reminding the interviewer about) the skills you used in this situation since they will also be helpful in the new role, including leadership, organization, communication, problem-solving, and more. Great job!
