Little supervision often comes after some time, when trust is well established between yourself and your employer. The interviewer would like to know if you have worked in an environment with little supervision. Primarily, they are looking for proof that you can be productive even when nobody is watching or supervising you.
The level of supervision required for jobs at Adyen can vary depending on the specific role and responsibilities of the employee. Some positions may require more supervision than others, while others may involve greater autonomy and independence. Be sure to ask the interviewer about the level of supervision in this particular role, as you want to ensure it's a good fit for you.

"I am a reliable employee who works hard, no matter who is watching. You can rest assured that I deliver great work at all times. Would you say this role is loosely, or more closely, supervised?"

"I am accustomed to very little supervision as a manager. Also, I offer a good amount of supervision for my team, but I also give them the flexibility to do what they do best without unnecessary interference. Do you believe in close supervision or prefer a more hands-off approach with your employees?"

Currently, I mostly have little to no supervision. There were weeks where no one was checking on my work, as we have a trusting relationship. I think this style allows me creativity and makes me very motivated. However, I like having coworkers around, for the times I get stuck and need someone to bounce ideas off of.

Rachelle's Feedback
Going weeks without a check-in is a true testament to your self-driven approach to work. This example is great, especially as more companies are shifting to virtual offices. The interviewer should feel very confident in your independence and productivity with an answer like this one :)

Currently, when I design solutions, I organize the work myself:
- I run the workshop
- write the design
- coordinate and supervise the Developers
- coordinate the delivery
All with little supervision.
In my last appraisal meeting "” I was congratulated on a job well done (4/5 rating) "” and was told that I
am on track to becoming a Senior Consultant, and can achieve it within the next year.

Great start! I have some notes to help you strengthen this answer. When it comes to your rating - if you mention receiving a 4/5, be prepared for follow-up questions such as, 'What were the positive points in this appraisal meeting, and what were your recommended areas for improvement?' Also, when giving numbers like a 4/5, it's always a good idea to provide a benchmark. For instance, you could mention that the average rating is 3.5/5, which would alert the interviewer that you are an above-average performer. Without that benchmark, you allow the interviewer to come to their own assumptions about where you rank, so to speak.

I currently work in a role with little to no supervision and I perform extremely well. The reason for this speaks to my time management and the fact that I am a self-starter. I get paid to solve problems at which I excel.
Marcie's Feedback
Great! The interviewer will be happy to hear that you work well without any supervision. Give an example of a time when you successfully completed a job with little supervision. Explain how you kept yourself motivated and on track. What was the end result? Including an example will prove to the interviewer that you are fully capable in this area. Nice job!
