What is an industry you would like to do strategy for and why?

If the interviewer is asking this question then they probably work with a variety of clients in different industries. This will allow them to think about which clients might be ideal for you and they want to figure out what your interests are.

Focus on one to two industries that have always interested you. Then share why they are of interest to you and how you think you would contribute to their strategy.

I would avoid discussing that you want to work with ALL industries. Although you might have fun doing this they really just want to get to learn more about you on a personal level.

"I would like to do strategy for a couple of industries. There are two that I haven't had the chance to work with but have always had a goal to do so. One of them is (industry name) and the reason why is (give reason). Another one is (second industry name) and some reasons why I want to work with them are (reasons why you want to work with them). "
