The interviewer would like to get to know you apart from what is written on your resume. When interviewing candidates I would be working with daily, I wanted to find talented individuals who were a personality match for my teams. Asking questions like these helped me assess their sense of humor, warmth, and ability to mesh with the others on my team.
"I am an avid marathon runner and have traveled to 10 countries in the last eight years to compete in various races. I am a competitive individual and enjoy keeping fit."
"I recently completed a robotics course that I have not had a chance to add to my resume yet. I enjoy continued education and take multiple courses throughout the year.
I also coach little league soccer. I played in high school and college and like working with kids. They are a blast, and I enjoy volunteering within the community."
Remember to answer with something unique to ensure you are a memorable candidate for Zebra Technologies. You are not obligated to discuss personal matters such as your kids or relationship status. If those topics make you uncomfortable, it is perfectly acceptable to stick with fun facts.
