We all have weaknesses. They are inevitable. However, showing an awareness of those weaknesses and having a plan to grow and improve upon those areas is so important. Name a weakness here that would not disqualify you for the role and share the actionable steps you are taking to learn, grow, and hold yourself accountable in this area.

"I am working on my ability to be assertive in the workplace. I do not always advocate for my needs or ask for help when I am in need. I tend to feel like I am bothering people when I speak up. I am trying to rewrite my perspective on this by being as honest as possible in my quarterly reviews. My mentor is also helping to hold me accountable to speaking up for myself more in order to find better work and life balance."

At times, I find it difficult to balance my work with my personal life. When I ignore my personal needs, I have noticed that I lose focus and feel less motivated. In order to create a more harmonious work-life balance, I spend more time with my family and friends, exercise, and stop working at a certain time each night so that I can rest and refresh myself. As a result, I work more comfortably, I am more productive and inspired, and can enhance the quality of my work and my performance.
Marcie's Feedback
Work-life balance is definitely important! Do you sometimes let work take over? While this is a weakness, it's a good one to discuss here because it can be seen in a positive light by the interviewer (e.g., it indicates that you are dedicated to your job and hardworking). You also do a great job of showing how you have learned to overcome this weakness. Great response!
