"I was raised to be a compassionate person and do consider myself to possess this quality. One way that I show this is by volunteering my time as an after-school tutor for kids struggling in school and who lack the resources at home. I have been committed to this volunteer work for the past two years."

I am the most compassionate person in my family. As George Washington Carver once said, "How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these." I am disciplined yet compassionate with my students. They have told me when they do not have enough food in their homes, get enough sleep at night, or have enough time to do their homework. I listen and provide them with suggestions. My students know that I will be there for them if they are having a rough time.
Marcie's Feedback
Your response clearly shows that you are a compassionate teacher, but your mention of being the most compassionate person in your family comes off a bit arrogant..? What if your spouse feels they are more compassionate than you?? :) Your mentions of children without enough food, sleep, and time stirs powerful emotions and contribute to an impactful response.
