When you work in education, it is important to understand the difference that a strong leader and mentor can make in a student's life. Talk to the interviewer briefly about someone who may have helped you along the way. Consider anyone who may have been influential or had a positive impact on you.

"In my elementary years, I had some trouble with reading. My grade 2 teacher was a very patient and kind person who went above her duties by giving me additional resources. Because she was generous with her time and efforts, I was exceeding grade-level expectations in no time. In addition to catching up academically, I was able to gain a lot of personal confidence."

Nothing great was ever accomplished alone. My fifth-grade teacher always marked up my papers with a red pen. I earned B's on my papers while my friends who did not write as eloquently as I did receive A's. When I asked my teacher why she was always so tough on me, she told me that I was capable of doing more--of elevating my writing to a higher level than my friends. My fifth-grade teacher's efforts to push me beyond my boundaries have strengthened my writing skills immensely and boosted my confidence in everything I do.
