As you've progressed through the interview stages with UnitedHealth Group and find yourself with the hiring manager in the final round, the one thing that should have become abundantly clear about the organization is their commitment and passion for what they do. Their core values of integrity, compassion, performance, and innovation are expected to be lived and breathed by all staff, and your interviewer wants to hear that you carry these values in your work by asking this question. Think back to what led you into this career path and what your motivating factors were, and come prepared to discuss how you still get excited to this day in the work that you do and will continue to as a new team member at UHG.

"As you saw in my resume and we discussed today, I spent the early part of my career as an administrative assistant and receptionist in a few different private businesses. The foundation of knowledge I received in customer service, administrative coordination, and general office duties really set the basis for my career. I eventually got to a point where I wanted my work to mean more and having a good friend in the medical industry really opened my eyes to where I could take my career. I've spent the last six years working in a fast-paced clinical setting, coordinating patient appointments, greeting patients in-person, and making follow-up phone calls to them. I love helping to make a difference in the day of a person that is sick, hurt, or struggling and look forward to continuing to do that with UnitedHealth Group members in this role."
