QUESTION 5 OF 25

How do you stay on top of current information and knowledge in your line of work?

UnitedHealth Group values providing resources, mentoring, and training to their staff to help them grow and develop in their long-term careers with the organization. The hiring manager wants to hire an individual who is personally motivated to do this as well. In posing this question during your time together, the hiring manager is ideally looking to hear that you are active in some of the industry organizations and societies in your field and that you take advantage of any training and development opportunities that come your way. Take the time to outline what things you actively participate in, any seminars/meetings you attend, and any industry connections you have that help you stay on top of your game in your line of work.

"Since graduating from college and entering this field, I've been an active member of both the CSWA and the NASW. Both organizations are great about providing CE credits and over the last few years I've participated in CE credits in substance abuse, reproductive healthcare, and human trafficking. I also take advantage when I can attend national conferences because they are such a great way to hear speakers on topics related to my work and to network with other clinical social workers throughout the country. The Clinical Social Work Journal also has great peer-reviewed articles that provide great tips for my work."
