Safety is an integral part of Tesla's culture, and they have a reputation to uphold. "Our vehicles are some of the safest in the world. After safety, our goal is to make every Tesla the most fun you could have in a vehicle." As with any company, there are safety protocols and OSHA work standards that Tesla must adhere to. The interviewer would like to know that you will make safety a priority. Think about a time you encountered an unsafe condition. Reassure the hiring manager that you recognize the value of being safe and careful in all you do.

"Our shop was always having trouble staying oil-free, so I suggested that we institute an oil recycling program, which included a drip tray connected to an EZ pump collection reserve tank. The whole process was self-contained and reduced our spillage almost completely. It was much easier to sweep and mop our shop without all that oil."

"I noticed a coworker standing, or rather balancing, on the very top step of a stepladder. I told them it wasn't safe and they could easily fall and break their back. I talked them down and made them promise that they would never do that again. I then gave my boss a heads up and recommended they keep their eye on that. But that coworker had a lot of integrity, and they kept their promise."
