Assure the interviewer that you are a go-getter and won't wait to be asked what to do. Walk them through a scenario where you took it upon yourself to fix something rather than run to your leader with a problem.

This summer, my internship was canceled so I decided to pursue a Lean Six Sigma certification on my own. I wanted to learn more about Lean manufacturing and process improvement and really enjoyed taking the course. It encouraged me to pursue a position in manufacturing, and I would like to continue with further certifications in the future.
