"I always arrive to work at least 15 minutes before I am expected to be there so I have extra time in case something happens. I also make sure I have the numbers of my co-workers and boss so I can call to let them know if I'm stuck or running late."

I like to be early to work, but if there was an instance in which I had to be late, I'd be sure to let my manager know what was going on. I'd be sure to have the phone numbers of my team, so I can inform them if that happened.

It sounds like you have a solid plan in place in the event you are running behind schedule and may be late to work. Good for you! I have suggested a slightly revised response below to include situations that could cause you to be absent altogether.

In the event I was forced to be absent, I would be sure to call my manager, or whoever would be affected by the situation, as soon as possible to ensure proper coverage could be arranged. I always make sure to have up-to-date phone numbers of my team, so I can contact them if this situation occurs.
