Your interviewer is not only curious what your approach to teamwork looks like, but how familiar you are with thiers. This will help them better determine how well you would collaborate with their teams and drive their success. Familiarize yourself with their teamwork model, while showcasing your ability to both lead others and be led by others, and using examples of times that you've done both.
As practiced in their consultancy, they recommend managing a business by placing a heavy focus on developing five key elements that create high-performing teams. Team Mind, Team Emotion, Team Process, Team Leadership, and Team Edge. Team mind refers to the 'shared thinking" within the team. Team emotion is how team members feel about each other, and their team as a whole. Team process describes what the team does that allows them to continuously adapt and perform at a high level. Read up on all you can and familiarize yourself with these five key elements prior to your interview.
"Well, I start by being mindful of how we can all work together, playing off of each of our strengths. That means trusting the rest of the team and maintaining their trust in me. I make sure I keep my finger on the pulse, and tend to the needs of every member who is in need. Coaching those who need a little help, carrying any extra weight when needed, setting the pace, and cheering everyone over the finish line at speed."
