Your interviewer is trying to assess your leadership potential, and whether you are aware of the primary styles of leadership. How you answer should also inform them whether you looked into identifying what EY's leadership culture looks like as a consideration when deciding if theirs is a preferrable work environment. "Leading into tomorrow. As leaders drive transformation, refresh their strategies, and manage risk, they must also evolve their culture to support new ways of working. Culture is defined by unwritten rules that set expectations for how people decide and behave. It is reflected by what people actually do every day, by what's celebrated, emphasized and overlooked. The decisions made today will shape the world."

Prior to your interview, perform some basic research on the type of leadership EY celebrates and tries to recruit. Then reflect on the leadership style and skills you developed over the years. If you don't have much leadership experience, think of those leaders who you admire or which served as a role model or mentor to you. Then determine the leadership style which best describes you. Your answer can touch on how these traits would fit into EY's mission, emphasizing growth and embracing change.
"My leadership style is transformative, influencer, and semi-democratic. I believe in enhancing team relations, getting everyone to participate in the big picture vision, and being highly focussed on development through identifying each team member's strengths and growth opportunities and getting them fullly invested and proactive in the development. A great team cannot win without a good coach."
