I worked at a brick and mortar which was open from 8am to 10pm. Our night crew struggled to complete all their closing duties after receiving their nightly shipment. The morning crew struggled to get the work floor presentable for the morning shift. This was detrimental to team morale and strained relations between the morning and night crews. This went on for some time. I followed the chain of command, recommending we receive the evening shipment mid-day instead. We had the staff to receive it during those slower hours. They took my idea and ran with it, and this change set up both the morning and evening shifts for success. The store operations and team morale has since improved.
