Can you tell us about a time when you missed a project deadline?

This question tests your ability to take responsibility for your own actions/owning your mistakes and what you learn from them. Be sure to include the impact it had on the business or project aside from how late it was.

Do not deflect blame or point fingers at others on your team. Do not offer excuses. Avoid examples resulting in disciplinary action.

I was project leader in improving our warehouse's output rate. My goal was to increase output from 150 orders an hour to 175 orders an hour in 45 days. After taking this on, I realized we needed to do a full Kaizen event, involving a full warehouse layout overhaul. I it took me 65 days to increase the output. I exceeded expectation by delivering an output of 180.
