How do you go about delegating work to your employees?

Everyone has their merits. I want to ensure every member of my team takes pride in their work. Although one employee might take a long time to complete one task, their attention to detail is obsessive. Whereas another employee moves fast and has great presentation, but upon closer examination, although close to perfect, they may have sacrificed some thoroughness prioritizing getting the job done on time. So whatever the task, I try to place my employees in tasks that best suit their talents, when I can afford that luxury.

This is an opportunity to reveal your interpersonal skills. Describe your method and approach to delegating, as well as advertising how you prioritize the strengths of your crew. Putting someone on a task ill-suited to their strengths doesn't expose their weaknesses but yours. Describe your management style. This will reveal where your are on a scale of delegating being difficult for you, to you being a micromanager.

If something's got to be done, you'd better do it yourself. I ask what everyone wants to do and let them do it.
