On my watch, there was a mis-punch on one of our orders. It was a bulkier item, and the overage was an additional zero at the end. This overwhelmed our back room. Instead of 3 cases, they shipped us 30. I promised I'd fix this by midday. I got on the phone with all our other locations and negotiated with every other branch to take some of our overstock. We traded smaller product of equal value to not affect our inventory numbers. At a certain point, I grew concerned I would not hit the target. There was no one else to call. So instead of giving up, I created an attractive display featuring this item on our sales floor. By the end of the day, we were asking for some of the product we unloaded to our other locations to replenish our display. Not only did I fix the issue, but increased our sales for that item.
