A restructure came down from corporate. We were told in a meeting what was going to happen, but not why. This created more questions than answers and sent everyone in a panic, concerned for their job security. This incited a great deal of speculation and gossip. Although I disagreed with the way the restructure was framed, I spoke with my superiors to inform them of the growing dissent. I asked them for more information on the big picture behind the restructure and relayed what I learned to the rest of our crew. I took every effort to explain our trajectory as a team. Soon optimism replaced skepticism, and the communal uncertainty passed.
