"There are so many healthcare issues that I am passionate about, but if I could choose one, I wish the general public were more aware of the signs and dangers of undiagnosed childhood diabetes. I also believe in improving the way different healthcare departments communicate with each other, resulting in faster and more accurate patient care."

"This is a very tough question as there are so many underfunded and worthy healthcare issues. I am going to go with one of my biggest areas of interest and research. If I could increase public awareness of any healthcare-related issue, I would choose pancreatic cancer. Yes, cancer does receive a lot of awareness; however, pancreatic cancer does not. This year, over 53,000 people in the USA will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and nearly 80% will die from the disease - both men and women."

When I began my career teaching fitness classes, I had no idea then where it would lead me. The last eight years I've spent working in childhood obesity awareness and prevention. I would definitely like to increase public awareness about obesity awareness and feel passionate about it. With overall obesity rates in the United States now over 40%, we have to continue to address this issue. Obesity is one of the highest healthcare spends in the country. There are so many ways that people can make changes impacting overall health with changes to their nutrition and physical activity habits.

Rachelle's Feedback
You answer this so well by showing your passion for health and also giving the nod to your earlier career. Well done! If this new role has a mission related to the issue of obesity rates, I recommend bringing in a final statement that ties the thoughts together (your interest/experience and this new opportunity).
