The interviewer must ask this question to determine that no obstacles prevent you from doing the work they are hiring for. This is an opportunity to be forthcoming about anything on your record that might prevent you from performing your duties, i.e., suspended license, DUI, etc. Be positive about incidents that may have happened, and above all, do not lie to the hiring manager. Most companies will run background checks on your license to ensure that you are telling the truth.
