"I think one of my weaknesses is that I tend to be kind of timid when it comes to drawing attention to my accomplishments. I work really hard, and typically set the pace for our teams, and help out whenever I can. But I lose sight of how busy my supervisors can be, and how many things they are tracking at any given time. So I shouldn't expect them to notice all of my accomplishments. But, I don't want to seem like a sycophant when drawing attention to my accomplishments either. So this is something that I struggle with. But I received some advice from one mentor recently, and that there is nothing wrong with passing the baton, and informing my leadership of where I left off with my workload. And when I do that, which is expected of me, I will thereby be informing them of how above and beyond my accomplishments were. So that helped with my mental shift. I have improved some in this regard, but it is taking more of an effort than I expected."
By informing them of where you are in your professional development, they'll have a better understanding of how they can continue to help you grow within their company. I would like to improve my technical skills with EXCEL. I feel like it is an area I could benefit from some concentrated study on. I've looked into local CC classes to do so.
