ALDI is a supermarket chain operating globally, so there will likely be times when corporate creates rules for the local stores. They may not always make sense to you, but leadership needs to know that you can get on board with something, even when you may not agree. Describe a situation where you've encountered a company policy or rule and how you navigated the situation. Perhaps you sought to better understand the "why," or perhaps you provided constructive feedback to leadership.

"I didn't always agree with the structure of my professor's lesson assignment due dates. For example, we were required to submit a post by Thursday and respond to two other students' posts by Saturday. It was difficult for me to have my assignments based on another student because students often submitted initial posts late, causing me to have to readjust my schedule, and I didn't have the ability to work ahead. I provided the feedback in a course survey, but ultimately, I respected the professor's decision and encouraged my classmates to post their assignments on time."

"If I could change one decision the leadership team made, it would be surrounding split shifts. I do not think that split shifts encourage a healthy work/life balance and when they incorporated them, it was tough. I still came to work, as scheduled, but I did respectfully let them know that I would be looking for work elsewhere, due to this change."

I personally never had any dislikes about the rules in my last employment. There were occasions where I worked with others who raised concerns surrounding questions for some of the policies we had in place. But the common denominator in those situations was a repeating chain of events. 1) The coworker didn’t understand a policy, 2) they didn’t get to the bottom of why the policy was in place and drew uninformed conclusions as to why it was in place, 3) their forgone conclusions created dissent. So anytime I noticed this, I helped them ask the right questions, which ultimately supported the vision of upper management. Communication is integral to success, and solid communication is a responsibility that falls squarely on everyone’s shoulders. This cannot be taken for granted.

I can't say I had an issue with the rules at my last job. They all existed for a reason. I go into most workplace situations with the assumption that the people who set up the guidelines know more than I do about the task at hand, the pitfalls I may encounter, and the best way to stay safe & productive.
