Offering a listening ear or providing words of encouragement can make a world of difference for some of your coworkers, but that likely isn't the right approach for all of them. Although many of your coworkers might have similar motivators, everyone is unique, so being able to identify the most common motivating denominator is the key here and then adapting your style to those outliers whose motivators are more unique. Reflect on your experience and share how you helped set clear goals or mentored individuals to cultivate a new skill. Taking part in increasing their rate of success can go a long way.

Most importantly, highlight the situations where you ensured your team had all the tools necessary to get the job done right. Most commonly, this comes from clear communication. Explaining to your team the stakes involved in the work and the importance of the work at hand will give them more of an investment in the work that needs to be done and a deeper understanding of how essential their part is to the overall collaborative team effort.
