"My least effective product marketing project was during a college internship before I'd learned all the nuances of the field. I was given a surprising amount of independence that I really wasn't ready for and assigned to a client who ran an online consulting business. They were adding new services to their offerings, and I thought a logo redesign would help convey a fresh look with expanded services. The client was on board with this idea and excited to see what I came up with. However, the logo I developed wasn't well-received by the client because it was too different from the original, which meant it wouldn't be familiar enough to existing customers. Luckily, I had a mentor on-site who worked with me to make the appropriate adjustments and in the end, the client loved what we came up with. I learned a lot about how to introduce something fresh while staying within the scope of the existing branding."
Give an overview of the problem encountered during your least effective product marketing project, focusing primarily on the action you took to make corrections. Be sure to share what you learned from the situation.
